Derya Yıldırım revives Anatolian folk music, blending traditional melodies with psychedelic influences and hypnotic vocals. Her music, rooted in family heritage and diverse cultural influences, aims to preserve and reimagine classic folk songs for a contemporary audience. The band, Grup Şimşek, describes their inclusive sound as 'outernational.' Their latest album, Yarın Yoksa, balances preservation with innovation, featuring original compositions and traditional Anatolian folk songs. They collaborated with producer Leon Michels for this release.
